El Vendrell experienced heavy rainfall early Saturday morning, accumulating over 140 millimetres per square metre and causing significant flooding along its coastline.

The Costa Daurada was particularly affected by the precipitation recorded between 10 PM and 6 AM. In El Vendrell, over 100 litres fell in just three hours, with some areas potentially reaching 200 litres according to the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya. Coastal neighbourhoods like Coma-ruga and Sant Salvador suffered flooded ground floors and streets, and water entered the lobbies of some hotels.
Rail traffic on several lines (R2 Sud, R4, R13, R14, R15, R16, R17, and RT2) was suspended at Sant Vicenç de Calders station due to water accumulation, although service was restored after 9 AM with altered schedules.

"The maritime strip, along with the streams, has been overwhelmed."

Kenneth Martínez · Mayor of El Vendrell
The 112 emergency number received nearly 700 calls from the Costa Daurada. Firefighters responded to 192 incidents overnight and approximately 50 more between 7 AM and 10 AM. The Catalan Water Agency (ACA) has issued a hydrological alert for Baix Penedès due to the adverse weather, warning of potential sudden increases in river and stream flows.
The most complex situation occurred at a nightclub in Coma-ruga, where over a hundred young people had to be evacuated and transferred to the Pla de Mar School. Firefighters also rescued a young woman trapped in her vehicle in a stream.
Mayor Kenneth Martínez described the night as "very long" and acknowledged they did not anticipate such an intense volume of rain, calling it "a situation we have never seen before." Damage is primarily estimated to be to urban furniture, the beach, and numerous affected private vehicles.
