The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 33-year-old man in El Vendrell, with around forty prior arrests, as the alleged perpetrator of six burglaries in establishments in the capital of Baix Penedès.

The arrest took place last Thursday, March 26, after a police investigation linked him to a series of six robberies committed in local businesses between February 26 and March 22. The arrested individual is a repeat offender, already known to investigators, who had previously detained him in February for four similar robberies that occurred in January.
The alleged thief employed the same method of operation in all incidents. He used tools to force doors, metal grilles, and windows, thereby gaining access to the interior of the premises. Once inside, he would take cash and items easily sold on the second-hand market, such as mobile phones, computers, and other valuables.
Among the criminal acts, two consecutive robberies at the same establishment and an incursion into another business on Sant Xavier Street on February 16 stand out. A premises in the Muntanyeta neighborhood was targeted on three occasions: February 26 and 27, and again on March 7. Finally, on March 12 and 22, he assaulted a bar on Colom Street and a bazaar on the Calafell road. The identification of the perpetrator was made possible by images captured by various video surveillance cameras.
The man was brought before the duty investigating court in El Vendrell on Saturday, March 28.
