The Local Government Board approved the contract award, requested by the Department of Public Roads, for a total amount of 120,039.16 euros (VAT included). This action aims to solve parking problems in the area, consolidating a space that has been used provisionally since February 2024.
“"If the procedure advances according to the planned schedule, the works could begin next February."
The project, drafted by the architect Ignasi Forcada Martorell, plans for a total area of 1,632.60 m² where the 58 parking spaces will be located, including two adapted spots. The main goal is landscape integration and minimizing the ecological footprint.
To ensure sustainability, native materials such as sauló (decomposed granite), stone, and local trees will be used. The pavement for the parking spaces will be sauló, a natural, permeable material that does not overheat. Additionally, the parking lot will feature six streetlights powered by photovoltaic energy and activated by presence detectors, reducing light pollution.
