The Catalan Anti-Fraud Office (OAC) has included the l'Arboç Town Council in its 2024 report due to the failure to submit documentation concerning the contracting of legal services.

The oversight body unsuccessfully requested information related to the contracting of legal services in an urban redevelopment case. This lack of cooperation has led the Anti-Fraud Office to refer the case to the Prosecutor's Office (Fiscalía), as the failure to submit documentation may have “criminal relevance.”
According to the report, the l'Arboç Town Council is the only Catalan local entity included in the document for this reason. The mayor, Joan Sans, attributed the situation to an “administrative error” and assured that the documentation has now been processed since December.

"If that had been the case, we surely would have noticed everything."

The request for documentation was made repeatedly. The Anti-Fraud Office requested the information up to five times between April 2023 and June 2024. On November 5, 2024, the absence of cooperation and response to the requirements was formally noted.
