The new infrastructure will be situated near Brisamar Avenue, an area recently affected by flooding incidents, including the one last Saturday.
The town's mayor, Kenneth Martínez, publicly announced the decision on Wednesday, emphasizing the need to act on the issue.
“"Given the effects of the torrential rains last Saturday, we have decided to advance the construction of this tank."
The municipal aim is to expedite the tank's construction to mitigate future damage caused by heavy rainfall in the coastal area.
