The Mossos d’Esquadra arrested a 21-year-old man in Llorenç del Penedès after dismantling a marijuana plantation valued at over 100,000 euros, charged with drug trafficking and electricity fraud.

The police operation took place last week in a warehouse located in an industrial estate in Llorenç del Penedès, where officers seized 1,092 marijuana plants and 319 grams of dried buds. The estimated value of these drugs in the illicit retail market exceeds 100,000 euros.
The investigation began in late 2025, when the Mossos d’Esquadra learned of a possible plantation. Surveillance confirmed the continuous entry and exit of people and detected manipulation of the electrical connection due to disproportionate energy consumption.

"The advanced infrastructure located and the high quantity of seized marijuana suggest that the activity was linked to a criminal group."

Specialized technicians confirmed the existence of a fraudulent connection to the network and proceeded to disconnect the line. Simultaneously, officers dismantled the indoor cultivation facility, a setup of "notable complexity" valued at nearly 60,000 euros.
The detainee, aged 21, is accused of a crime against public health, electricity fraud, and belonging to a criminal group. He was brought before the duty investigating court of El Vendrell last Thursday.
