Badalona Prepares for a May Full of Long Weekends and Local Festivities

The city's work calendar includes several non-working days, offering the chance to enjoy extended weekends and a super long weekend in June.

Residents of Badalona will have several opportunities to enjoy public holidays during May and June 2026, with the chance to create extended long weekends thanks to local and national festivities.

The month of May begins with Labor Day, on Friday, May 1st, a non-working day throughout the territory. This date will allow many to enjoy a long weekend, with the possibility of extending it further by requesting days off on Thursday, April 30th, or Monday, May 4th.
In addition to the national holiday, Badalona will celebrate its traditional May Festivities, with the central day on Monday, May 11th, dedicated to Saint Anastasius, patron saint of the city since 1672. This local festivity offers another opportunity for a long weekend, especially if days off are combined with the weekend.
Shortly after, on Monday, May 25th, comes Second Easter, another local holiday in Badalona. This variable date commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit and is a non-working day in the municipality, although it is not in all Catalan towns.
Finally, June 24th, Saint John's Day, which this year falls on a Wednesday, opens the door to a possible "super long weekend" of five days. Those who can organize themselves and request days off on Monday, June 22nd, and Tuesday, June 23rd, or Thursday, June 25th, and Friday, June 26th, will be able to enjoy a long break before the summer holidays.
