The award, promoted by the Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona al Barcelonès Nord (Barcelona Chamber of Commerce in Northern Barcelonès), aims to promote vocational training among youth in the municipalities of Badalona, Sant Adrià de Besòs, and Santa Coloma de Gramenet. The winning project, GymBlob, is part of the Advanced Vocational Training Cycle in Networked Computer Systems Administration with a specialization in Cybersecurity.
Students Javier Martín and Víctor Medrano created GymBlob to offer a simple technological solution that fosters sports habits and values, both individually and collectively. Specifically, it motivates users in their sports routines, accompanying them in training and helping them achieve their goals, in addition to allowing routine customization and chatting.
The award ceremony, the fourth edition of the initiative, was held in the gardens of the Museu d’Història de la Immigració de Catalunya in Sant Adrià de Besòs. The event was attended by the Mayor of Sant Adrià de Besòs, Filo Cañete, the President of the Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona al Barcelonès Nord, Vicenç Hernández, and the Secretary of Vocational Training of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Francesc Roca.
In the second category, the SmartMirrow project from Institut La Pineda in Badalona was awarded. Led by Wassima El Aydouni, Raquel Delgado, and Maria Lorente, it proposes an intelligent mirror to help decide daily outfits. RadioElèctric and PadelConnect were also recognized as finalists. Furthermore, the jury gave a special mention to tutor Francesc Juanico from the Institut Manuel Vázquez Montalbán in Sant Adrià de Besòs for his commitment to mid-level VET students.
