The Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM) is expected to approve the 2026 fares this Friday for Barcelona and its metropolitan area, maintaining 50% discounts on the most used passes.

The ATM Governing Council, a consortium formed by the Generalitat, the Barcelona City Council, and the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), announced that the agreement is conditional on the approval of the economic contribution from the Spanish Government. This measure will allow the most frequent passes, such as the T-usual and T-jove, to maintain their 50% subsidized price.
The proposal includes an average fare update of 3.5%, in line with the evolution of the CPI (Consumer Price Index). The ATM justifies this increase as “necessary to guarantee the continuity, quality, and coverage of the service” in the face of generalized increases in public transport operating costs.
Regarding the subsidized passes, the one-zone T-Jove will cost 45.5 euros, a slight increase from the 44 euros charged in 2025. The one-zone T-Usual will be set at 22.8 euros per month. Prices for the six zones of the T-Usual will range between 30.55 euros (two zones) and 63.85 euros (six zones).
The T-Casual, which does not benefit from any subsidy, will also see an increase. The one-zone ticket will cost 13 euros, while the six-zone ticket will reach 54.45 euros. The most significant increase is in the single ticket, which will rise by 9.43% compared to the previous year, costing 2.90 euros.
