The Government Commission of the Barcelona City Council has approved the remodeling of Sant Adrià and Otger streets in the Sant Andreu district, prioritizing pedestrians starting in the third quarter of 2026.

The main goal of the action is to consolidate a civic axis connecting the Fabra i Coats complex with the Can Fabra library. This transformation will eliminate architectural barriers and create new resting areas and vegetation, as reported by the council.
The works are budgeted at 3.5 million euros and are expected to last approximately 15 months. The start of construction is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.

"The reform will create a link that is friendlier, greener, and more accessible."

Marta Villanueva · Councillor for the Sant Andreu district
The reform will restrict vehicle access on Sant Adrià street, allowing entry only for residents and services. This street was previously closed to general traffic for years due to the provisional tent of the Sant Andreu Market. The project also includes the installation of new flowerbeds and urban furniture.
Regarding Otger street, the works will integrate the road with the Jardinets de Can Fabra, removing the current sloped staircase to improve overall mobility.
