The celebration, considered the most important festival for the Chinese community, will take place on the weekend of February 7 and 8, 2026, although the official start of the Chinese lunar calendar, dedicated to the Fire Horse, is on February 17.
The program will begin on Saturday, February 7 at 11 am with the traditional parade. It will start at the Parc de l’Estació del Nord with the gong ceremony and follow the usual route through the Fort Pienc neighborhood until reaching the Arc de Triomf.
Simultaneously, the Arc de Triomf will host the Gastronomic and Cultural Fair, which will be open from 11 am to 9 pm throughout the two days of celebration. There will also be performances of Chinese New Year shows both at noon (12 pm to 2 pm) and in the afternoon (5 pm to 7 pm) on Saturday.
The event involves key organizations such as the Huaxing Artists Association, the Confucius Institute Foundation of Barcelona, and Casa Asia. Chinese astrology associates the Fire Horse with freedom, vitality, passion, and the desire for progress and change.
