Luck favored the Catalan capital with the first prize, number 06703, which awards 200,000 euros per ticket. Furthermore, Barcelona also sold part of the second prize, number 45875, valued at 75,000 euros per winning ticket. The third prize, 32615, bypassed Catalonia entirely.
The first and second are the only prizes in the Three Kings' Lottery that are taxed, as the third prize falls below the 40,000 euro threshold.
Lottery prizes are subject to taxation if they exceed 40,000 euros. Thus, winners of the first prize must pay 32,000 euros in taxes, while second prize winners will pay 7,000 euros to the Spanish Treasury.
Regarding general expenditure, Catalans invested 92.691 million euros in purchasing tickets, a figure representing a 0.69% decrease compared to the previous year. The average expenditure per inhabitant was 11.41 euros, with Barcelona being the territory that contributed the most to this total.
