The Catalan Government will open a new call for rental aid next week, aimed at individuals aged between 36 and 64, with an expanded budget and criteria agreed upon with the Comuns political group.

This initiative, which will accept applications until April 30, 2026, seeks to support those who, while not at imminent risk of exclusion, require assistance to maintain their primary residence. According to the Comuns, the measure is a crucial tool to prevent residential exclusion.
The call includes a significant increase in the income threshold for eligibility, now set at 36,279.32 euros annually. Furthermore, the budget has been boosted by 106 million euros compared to the previous edition, which, according to Comuns' calculations, will extend coverage to approximately 40,000 family units.
The subsidy amounts will vary based on income and territorial scope, with a maximum of 200 euros per month and a minimum of 50 euros, surpassing the 20 euros of the previous call. For Barcelona and its metropolitan area, including regions like Baix Llobregat, Barcelonès, Garraf, Maresme, Vallès Occidental, and Vallès Oriental, the housing cap is extended to 1,000 euros monthly (previously 900 euros) and 450 euros per room.
In the rest of the Barcelona demarcation, the cap rises to 750 euros per dwelling (previously 650 euros) and 350 euros per room. For the Girona and Tarragona demarcations, the caps remain at 750 euros and 700 euros per dwelling respectively, with 400 euros and 350 euros per room. In Lleida and the Terres de l'Ebre, the caps remain at 600 euros per dwelling and 300 euros per room.
For large families, single-parent families, or those with a recognized disability and favorable mobility assessment, the maximum subsidized amount is 1,100 euros in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area and 900 euros in the rest of the territory.
