The final figure of €106,610 marks a 60% increase over the previous year's record of €65,000. This milestone was achieved during an eight-hour radio marathon hosted by Rosa Badia and Joan Tejedor, featuring the auction of over 50 donated items.
Among the most sought-after items were a dress and a gold record signed by Rosalía (€6,150), the handwritten lyrics of Paraules d’amor by Joan Manuel Serrat (€4,750), and the “Perro Sanxe” toy donated by the Prime Minister of Spain (€1,650). Other notable donations included Joaquín Sabina's bowler hat and Alexia Putellas's boots.
The Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, announced an extraordinary contribution of €30,000 from the City Council's District 11, channeled through Unicef, specifically for aid to children in the Gaza Strip.
“"What we have done is declare District 11 the city of Palestine."
This edition marks the first time in nearly 60 years of tradition that the campaign has allocated funds to children in Gaza. Joan Alegre, director of SER Catalunya, noted that the record “sets a challenge for us next year, to see what happens in the 60th edition.”
