El Niño Lottery First Prize lands in a dozen Catalan municipalities

The winning number 06703, worth 200,000 euros per ticket, was widely distributed across Barcelona province and the Costa Daurada.

The Extraordinary 'El Niño' Lottery Draw distributed part of its first prize, number 06703, worth 200,000 euros per ticket, across a dozen towns in Catalonia on January 6, 2026.

The winning number, corresponding to the first prize or 'El Gordo', is endowed with two million euros per series. In Catalonia, the winning tickets were widely distributed, mainly concentrated in the province of Barcelona, with sales in Barcelona city, Terrassa, Mataró, Cornellà de Llobregat, El Prat de Llobregat, Rubí, Sabadell, Mollet del Vallès, and Castelldefels. Tickets were also sold in Roquetes and Salou, located on the Costa Daurada.
The 06703 was one of the most widely distributed numbers in the draw nationwide, with sales recorded in regions such as Castilla y León, Comunidad Valenciana, Asturias, Galicia, and Andalucía, among others.
Regarding the other main prizes, the second prize, worth 75,000 euros per ticket, went to 45875, sold in towns like O Porriño (Pontevedra), Aranjuez, and Madrid, in addition to Barcelona. The third prize, worth 25,000 euros per ticket, corresponded to 32615.

The Extraordinary 'El Niño' Draw concluded the Christmas holidays by distributing 770 million euros in prizes across the entire country.

Despite being awarded the first prize, Catalonia was below the state average in spending per inhabitant on the El Niño draw. The average expenditure was 11.41 euros per person, compared to 17.60 euros for Spain as a whole. In total, tickets worth 92 million euros were sold in Catalonia, a slight decrease of 0.69% compared to the previous year.
