The Tibidabo Amusement Park has introduced a new audio-description experience at the Embruixabruixes attraction, allowing ten blind individuals from ONCE Catalunya to enjoy it with live narration. Additionally, a commemorative lottery ticket for the park's 125th anniversary was presented.
The Tibidabo Amusement Park has reinforced its commitment to accessibility and inclusion with a live audio-description experience at the Embruixabruixes attraction. A group of ten blind individuals affiliated with ONCE Catalunya were able to enjoy the emblematic ride accompanied by real-time narration of the various elements along the route.
This initiative is part of Tibidabo's aim to become an increasingly accessible and inclusive park, enabling all citizens to enjoy its attractions. The activity also explored new ways for blind or visually impaired people to experience 'Embruixabruixes' with greater autonomy.
The historic Embruixabruixes attraction, originally inaugurated in 1915 as the Ferrocarril Aeri, was renovated in 2016 with technology such as holograms and virtual environments, while preserving its historical essence.
During the visit, the deputy delegate of ONCE in Catalonia, Àngel Ávila, presented the Park's director, Rosa Ortiz, with a framed illustration of the lottery ticket that the organization dedicates to Tibidabo's 125th anniversary. This ticket, for the draw on Saturday, October 31st, will promote the milestone across Spain through five and a half million copies.
Rosa Ortiz, the Park's director, highlighted that "initiatives like this reaffirm Tibidabo's social and inclusive commitment and our desire to continue moving towards a park accessible for everyone. We thank ONCE for accompanying us in celebrating the 125th anniversary and for helping to promote the park's history and values throughout the country".
The Tibidabo Amusement Park, officially inaugurated in 1901, is the oldest operating park in Spain and the second oldest in Europe. Managed since 2002 by the Barcelona City Council through BSM, it features 35 attractions and combines heritage, culture, education, accessibility, sustainability, and innovation.
The ONCE Weekend Super Prize lottery ticket offers a main prize of €300,000 plus €5,000 per month for 20 years, along with prizes of €2,000 per month for 10 years for four other tickets. The tickets are sold by the organization's 21,300 vendors, including 2,500 in Catalonia, and can also be purchased online.
