The ODA Awards, organized by the Observatory of Diversity in Audiovisual Media, will be held for the first time in Barcelona on December 15th at the La Paloma hall, with the collaboration of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

These awards, which since 2020 recognize good practices and inclusive productions in the audiovisual sector, highlight the fight against LGBTI-phobia, racism, and ableism. The Generalitat joins the celebration to promote diverse representation free from stereotypes.
The ODA Awards 2026 introduce three new categories: the DAMA award for Best Screenplay, the DAMA award for Best Direction, and the award for Best Performance. These are added to the existing awards for Best Fiction, Altaveu a la diversitat, Best New Media Creation, and Person of the Year.
Candidatures can be submitted until October 23rd through the Observatory's website form, except for the Person of the Year category. Nominations will be announced the first week of November in Barcelona.
Last year, director Afioco Gnecco was recognized as Person of the Year, the film Sorda received the award for Best Fiction, the project Afromayores was distinguished as Best New Media Creation, and Filmin received the Altaveu a la diversitat award.
The Observatory of Diversity in Audiovisual Media (ODA) analyzes the portrayal of LGBTI+, racialized, and disabled groups in Spanish audiovisual fiction to drive change towards more responsible and diverse media, and to raise awareness about stereotypes.
