The Generalitat de Catalunya, through the Catalan Youth Agency and the Catalan Youth Hostel Network, has opened the second call for the 'Vacances en família' program, offering reduced-price stays for families with children under 18 and even with pets.

The 'Vacances en família' program, promoted by the Catalan Youth Agency (ACJ) and the Catalan Youth Hostel Network (XANASCAT), allows families to enjoy special-priced stays in various hostels across Catalonia. This initiative, now in its 21st edition, aims to foster family leisure and coexistence.
Pre-registration for the second call of 2026 opened on April 13 and closes on April 27 at 12:00 PM. Interested families can register through the pre-registration portal, indicating their preferred dates and locations. The public draw will take place on April 29 at 12:00 PM, and the results will be published the following day.
This call offers 23,051 places, benefiting up to 4,412 families. Available shifts run from June 21 to December 13, 2026, including all summer weeks, the October long weekend, and all weekends from September to mid-December, across 28 different hostels.
Rates vary by season. In low season, the price for those over 14 years old is 35.50 euros per person per night. In mid-season, the cost is 41 euros, and in high season, 44 euros. Children aged 7 to 13 receive a 25% discount, those aged 4 to 6 receive a 50% discount, and children under 3 stay for free. People over 65 have a fixed rate of 24 euros. These prices include VAT, full board, bed linen, and for stays longer than two nights, some activities.
Additionally, the program offers an extra 10% discount for large and single-parent families, and a 15% reduction for children with a recognized disability equal to or greater than 33%, in a situation of dependency or functional diversity. A notable new feature is that dogs are welcome, with an additional cost of 4.50 euros per animal per night, with a maximum of two animals per family in adapted rooms.
