“"This situation has caused suffering for hundreds of thousands of people, leaving them without knowing how to get to work, when they can arrive, or how to return home. They have seen their right to work, education, and mobility violated. And the Mayor of Barcelona? Disappeared. Without showing his face. Without demanding accountability. Without defending his fellow citizens."

Junts per Barcelona has forced the convening of an extraordinary plenary session at the City Council to debate the management of the Rodalies chaos, demanding that Mayor Jaume Collboni defend the city's interests.
The municipal group Junts per Barcelona, which holds 11 councilors, has used its representation to compel the socialist mayor Jaume Collboni to call an extraordinary plenary session within a maximum period of 15 days. The main goal is to denounce the structural collapse of the railway network and censure the management of the Illa Government during the recent service interruption crisis.
The initiative by Junts also focuses on the responsibility of successive State governments, pointing to "decades of underinvestment and lack of maintenance" in the Catalonia network. They urge Collboni to "assume the defense of the city's interests" and to be "demanding towards other administrations to guarantee a decent service."
During the session, Junts wants the mayor to champion the demand for a clear, public, and verifiable calendar of actions and investments in the Rodalies network. Furthermore, they request a timeline for the integral transfer of the infrastructure to the Generalitat de Catalunya. Separately, ERC will question Collboni in the next ordinary plenary session regarding his "silence" concerning the service interruption for over 48 hours.
