Minister of Justice Ramon Espadaler attended the presentation of a special issue of 'Política & Prosa' magazine focused on the challenges facing the Justice Administration, held at the ICAB Library in Barcelona.

The Library of the Illustrious College of Lawyers of Barcelona (ICAB) hosted the presentation of the new issue of 'Política & Prosa' magazine, centered on the present and future challenges of the Justice Administration. The event was attended by the dean of ICAB, Cristina Vallejo, and brought together experts from the judicial, academic, and legal fields to discuss the system's transformations.
During his speech, Minister Ramon Espadaler emphasized the importance of a comprehensive and sustained reform of the justice system. According to the minister, this reform is crucial for providing a more agile response to citizens' needs and for strengthening trust in democratic institutions.
The special issue, titled ‘Justice: The Pending Reform’, features articles from a wide range of professionals, including magistrates, prosecutors, lawyers, and academics. These texts analyze challenges such as judicial organization, technological implementation, court efficiency, access to justice, alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, judicial independence, and the adaptation of public services to recent social and economic changes.
The publication aims to foster public debate on a matter fundamental to guaranteeing citizens' rights and the proper functioning of the rule of law. Minister Espadaler contributes to the issue with his own article, reflecting on the need for organizational, technological, and cultural transformation, going beyond legislative changes to improve public service.
The minister also highlighted the initiatives by the Department of Justice and Democratic Quality in Catalonia, such as the deployment of instance courts, the creation of new judicial and fiscal units, the digitalization of procedures, the reinforcement of municipal justice offices, and the expansion of dispute resolution mechanisms. The ultimate goal is to achieve a justice system that is more accessible, modern, and prepared for the future.
