The Barcelona Prosecutor's Office has formalized the accusation against a former coach of the Centre Catòlic de L’Hospitalet, requesting 45 years and six months in prison for alleged sexual assaults against three minor players committed in 2018.

The Public Prosecution Service requests the opening of the oral trial and, in addition to the prison sentence, demands the special disqualification of the accused from any professional activity involving contact with minors. The man, currently 28 years old, was coaching female teams in the club's basketball section when the events allegedly occurred.
According to the provisional conclusions document, the coach allegedly created a climate of trust and dependency to place the victims in a vulnerable position. The episodes date back to 2018, including private conversations with a 14-year-old player that led to a meeting at the accused's home, and another assault during a tournament in Comarruga during Easter Week.
The Basquet Club Centre Catòlic de L’Hospitalet, upon learning of the facts, immediately removed the alleged aggressor and expelled him from the club. The entity supported the affected families and created new action protocols for the immediate detection of such cases.
The judicial process also includes economic compensation of 24,000 euros for moral damages to the victims. The Prosecutor's Office document qualifies the Centre Catòlic de l’Hospitalet as a subsidiary civil responsible party, which would oblige the entity to assume the payment if the accused lacks funds.
