The Barcelona Municipal Government approved in commission the eviction of two vulnerable settlements located near the Sant Andreu Barracks, despite the opposition expressed by ERC and the Comuns parties.

The decision was made in the Commission of Presidency, Security and Interior Regime of the council. The initiative was presented by the Popular Party (PP) and received explicit support from the PSC, Junts, and VOX, forming a majority in favor of the eviction.

The affected settlements are specifically located on Andana de l’Estació street, where three families without minors reside, and in the Antoni Santiburcio park.

The municipal groups of Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC) and the Comuns cast their votes against the measure, likely arguing for the necessity of providing housing alternatives for the affected individuals.
