The Leitat technology center, based in Terrassa, has been honored with the Respon.cat Award for Sustainable Innovation 2025, recognizing its comprehensive integration of ESG criteria in applied research.

The award, granted by Respon.cat, a leading business organization for social responsibility in Catalonia, distinguishes organizations that structurally integrate sustainability into their innovation and business models. This recognition highlights the incorporation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria in technological transfer.

"At Leitat, sustainability is not an add-on, but a structural criterion that we integrate from the beginning in applied research and technology transfer projects."

Jordi Cabrafiga · General Director of Leitat
Leitat celebrates the award, which arrives at a symbolic moment, as the technology center celebrates its 120th anniversary in 2026. This recognition reinforces its historical role as a key agent in the Catalan innovation system, closely linked to industrial development and productive competitiveness.
The Respon.cat Awards ceremony was held on Tuesday, January 27, at the Llotja de Mar in Barcelona. The event was chaired by doctor Josep Santacreu, Honorary President of Respon.cat, and featured institutional figures such as Josep Rull, President of the Parliament of Catalonia, and Miquel Sàmper, Minister of Business and Labor.
