This edition of the MWC, which commemorates its 20th anniversary in the Catalan capital, anticipates a massive attendance of nearly 110,000 visitors from over 200 countries. The estimated economic impact for the city of Barcelona is expected to exceed 585 million euros.
The main focus of the fair, held at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona, will be the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across all sectors. The organization highlighted that the edition will concentrate on robotics, the low-altitude space industry, and the balance between innovation and regulation.
Among the notable novelties is the New Frontiers space, which will explore quantum computing and non-terrestrial networks (NTN) to facilitate communications in rural and remote areas.
Another new space debuting this year is the Airport of the Future, an immersive exhibition designed to showcase how airports and air travel will be transformed in the coming decades through new technologies.
The speaker program includes top-tier figures such as Gwynne Shotwell, President of SpaceX, and Michael Nicolls, VP of Engineering at Starlink. Additionally, the CircuitX event will take place on Sunday, March 1, at the Circuit de Catalunya, focusing on smart mobility and solutions for major sporting events.
