The Mont-roig del Camp City Council will hold an informative meeting on Monday, December 22, at the Centre Polivalent Theater to explain the new phase of the Avinguda de Barcelona works to Miami Platja residents.

The action, which continues the urban transformation previously initiated, has a total budget of 6,853,924 euros (VAT included). The project covers the complete reurbanization of Plaça de Tarragona and the section of Avinguda de Barcelona between this square and Avinguda de Maria Cristina.
Improvements to Avinguda del Mar are also included, running from Plaça de Tarragona to Passeig Mediterrani, reaching the iron bridge. The works involve a comprehensive subsoil renovation, updating sewage and basic service networks.

The transformation of Plaça de Tarragona will redefine it as a large space for citizen coexistence, more accessible and friendly, conceived as a new center for social gathering and revitalization.

The adopted urban model prioritizes sustainability and pedestrians, including the replacement of pavement and sidewalks, new lighting, urban furniture, and the incorporation of green areas and new trees. The continuity of the cycle path is maintained to improve connection between the civic and commercial areas of Miami Platja.
The works have an estimated duration of 16 months and are scheduled to start in the second half of 2026, after the Christmas holidays. The City Council has coordinated traffic management, including circulation cuts and diversions, with the awarded company Tecnofirmes and the landscaping company Josep Rovira, details of which will be explained at the meeting.
