The municipality of Palau Sator, located in the heart of the Baix Empordà, stands out as a quiet destination combining rich medieval heritage with the production of the renowned Girona Apple (PDO).

Apple production is one of the distinctive features of the province of Girona, especially in the Empordà, Gironès, and Selva areas. This fruit, known for its balanced flavor and crunchy texture, holds the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status and the Girona Exel·lent quality seal awarded by the Diputació de Girona.
Palau Sator is a point of interest for lovers of zero-kilometer products thanks to the surrounding plantations. Local restaurants such as Mas Pou, Sa Torre, or Can Bach offer dishes prepared with the best local apples, enhancing the gastronomic experience.
Beyond agriculture, the town, with only 305 inhabitants according to Idescat, is a beautiful medieval village. Surrounded by a walled enclosure, its most notable entrance is the Portal street, which leads to the imposing Torre de les Hores (Tower of the Hours), 20 meters high and declared a National Asset of Cultural Interest.
The historical heritage of Palau Sator also includes the ancient castle, whose origins date back to the 10th century, also listed as a National Asset of Cultural Interest. Nearby, visitors can explore the Ermita de Sant Julià de Boada, one of the best-preserved pre-Romanesque monuments in Catalonia, and the Museu Rural, dedicated to farming tools.
