The company expects to finalize the round in the final quarter of the year, with participation from Avançsa and other existing investors. The new capital will enable Qilimanjaro to scale and industrialize its quantum computers, advance the development of new generations of chips, and increase its manufacturing and deployment capacity.
This funding strengthens technological capabilities developed in Spain and contributes to greater European technological autonomy in quantum computing. Marta P. Estarellas, CEO of Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech, highlights the combination of sovereign and industrial capital to protect and accelerate national technological autonomy, bringing quantum computing closer to strategic industrial sectors.
Ignacio Martínez, Managing Director of IndraMind, remarks that quantum computing will mark a decisive leap in artificial intelligence and its problem-solving capabilities. This transaction strengthens Indra Group's position in this strategic field.
The investment also reinforces Indra Group's commitment to Catalonia, a leading European hub for innovation, supercomputing, and quantum technologies. Enric Blasco, Director of Indra Group in Catalonia, notes that the transaction advances their growth strategy in the region.
Founded in Barcelona in 2019 by IFAE, the University of Barcelona, and the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, Qilimanjaro is the only Spanish full-stack quantum computing company. It develops its own chips, software, and algorithms, integrating cryogenics and control electronics to build complete quantum systems.
Three Qilimanjaro quantum systems are already operational at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, including the first analog quantum computer integrated into a European HPC center. The company employs 80 people and has deployed eight quantum systems, serving clients in energy, telecommunications, logistics, healthcare, and finance.
