The President in exile, Carles Puigdemont, and other leaders of Junts per Catalunya have severely criticized the Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, for his apparent indifference to the collapse of the Rodalies commuter rail service persisting this January.

The outburst of criticism from the Junts per Catalunya leadership towards Mayor Collboni occurred following a post on the mayor's Instagram account, where he appeared reading the Spanish edition of Vogue magazine. Puigdemont used this image to accuse Collboni of ignoring the rail crisis affecting thousands of citizens.

"Reading the Spanish edition of Vogue is a complete statement, and it has been perfectly understood: ‘I don't care about you or your problems’."

In his post, the Junts leader criticized Collboni for favoring the Generalitat and State governments, which the pro-independence parties hold responsible for the emergency. Jordi Martí Galbis, Junts spokesperson in the Barcelona municipal plenary, also accused the mayor of 'continuing to be missing' while 'the whole country sinks under the Rodalies crisis'.
The rail crisis has escalated to the point of demanding resignations. From Perpignan, Puigdemont labeled the Catalan executive 'incompetent' and called for the resignation of the Minister of Territory, Sílvia Paneque. Meanwhile, the president of Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya, Oriol Junqueras, criticized the 'manifest incapacity' of the Generalitat and directly targeted the Minister of Business and Labor, Miquel Sàmper, for failing to provide explanations.
