The Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau and two of its professionals, Dr. Esther Francia and Dr. Jose M. Guerra, have been recognized with the Professional Excellence Awards from the Barcelona Medical College (COMB) at an event held at the AXA Auditorium.

Dr. Esther Francia, from the Geriatrics Unit, and Dr. Jose M. Guerra, from the Arrhythmia Unit, have been individually honored for their professional careers. The Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) Code Urgent Care Process team at the hospital has also received recognition in the Healthcare Teams category.
Dr. Francia, awarded in Hospital Care Medicine, stated that "Having patients well treated and your colleagues believing you do your job well is the best recognition for me, personally and professionally." Dr. Guerra, honored in Healthcare Areas, expressed his gratitude to the COMB "because it is a recognition from colleagues of my lifelong professional attitude of trying to give my best to my patients."
The AMI Code team, coordinated by doctors Marcelo Jiménez and Roberto Lazzaro, has been recognized for its work in continuously reducing response times and minimizing the after-effects of acute myocardial infarction. This multidisciplinary team includes professionals from Emergency Services, Cardiology, reference CUAPs of AIS Dreta, SEM, and the Hospital d'Andorra.
The COMB Awards, presented since 2004, annually distinguish 42 professionals and 4 healthcare teams for their high-quality practice and promotion of medical values. The jury comprises physicians of recognized prestige.
