Improvement works on the pavement of Margarida Xirgu street in La Pobla de Claramunt started this Monday, aiming to renovate the road and enhance its accessibility.

The work, affecting the section between Violant d’Hongria street and Caterina Albert street, includes a complete pavement renovation with concrete and cobblestone strips, as well as orientation elements for visually impaired individuals. The project will maintain the existing single-level platform.
Tree stumps and roots causing pavement damage will be removed, and eleven planters will be installed to incorporate vegetation. These interventions will improve passage for both pedestrians and vehicular traffic, and aid navigation for people with vision difficulties.
The project has an initial budget of 99,939.08 euros, including VAT, with an estimated duration of six weeks. The initiative is fully subsidized by the Diputació de Barcelona.
Through this intervention, the Town Council of La Pobla responds to a community demand and continues to work on improving public spaces, promoting more accessible and safer streets.
