The City Council of La Llagosta initially approved modifications to the 2027 fiscal ordinances yesterday. Most taxes, including waste management, will be frozen, while urban property tax sees a slight increase and surcharges are introduced for unoccupied properties.

The ordinary session saw votes in favor from the PSC, abstentions from LLEC and ERC, and a vote against from the PP. Regarding the Property Tax (IBI), the rate for urban properties is revised to 0.999%, a 2.67% increase from 2026. A surcharge of 100% or 150% is also introduced for long-term unoccupied residential properties.
The ordinance regulating the public price for Home Care Services was also modified, adapting prices set by the Consell Comarcal del Vallès Oriental. Additionally, tariffs for the El Turó Municipal Sports Complex will increase by 3.5% to balance costs, although the single entry fee for the summer pool remains unchanged and its opening period will be extended.
Conchi Jiménez, President of the Presidency area, explained that the council faces rising fixed expenses and stagnant income, making this modification a relevant tool to ensure municipal financial balance while considering the socioeconomic situation of residents.
“

"The update of the fiscal ordinances is not a measure the Council takes lightly. We have exercised maximum restraint in the increases, thinking of our residents, without forgetting that essential services must be guaranteed and municipal finances must be sustainable."

Conchi Jiménez · President of the Presidency area
“

"The ordinances are approved as a package; we agree with some and disagree with others, like the IBI and the one affecting CEM El Turó; hence our vote will be abstention."

Eva Miguel · LLEC Spokesperson
The Council also approved the General Protocol of Action between the Generalitat de Catalunya, the City Council of La Llagosta, the Port Authority of Barcelona, and the Administrator of Railway Infrastructure (ADIF) for the development of the freight transport terminal and the Urban Planning Master Plan for the Eix Riera de Caldes economic activity area.
Furthermore, a sanctioning procedure was initiated against the company Calam Tapias Construccions for an 81-day delay in the rehabilitation works of Can Baqué, claiming 147,000 euros.
The bases for granting subsidies to outstanding athletes were modified, allowing beneficiaries to include those participating in prestigious national or international competitions organized by private entities or non-federative international organizations.
Budgetary modifications and the agreement for sewage management by the Consorci Besòs Tordera were also approved. The session began with a minute of silence for victims of gender-based violence and the train accident in Toledo. The point for requests and questions and the approval of the November 25th manifesto were withdrawn due to technical urgency.
