Renowned cinematographer Tomàs Pladevall, widely regarded as a 'master of light', has died at the age of 79, leaving behind a 50-year legacy in Catalan cinema.

Cinematographer Tomàs Pladevall has died at the age of 79, as reported by the ACN news agency. Born in Sabadell in 1946, he was a pivotal figure in the film industry, collaborating with major directors such as Bigas Luna, Pere Portabella, and José Luís Guerin.
Throughout his extensive five-decade career, he was responsible for the imagery of notable films including Tatuatge, El silenci abans de Bach, and Tren d'ombres. Beyond his work on over fifty feature films, he also directed the lighting for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Barcelona 92 Olympic Games.
