The city of Barcelona is preparing for one of the most crowded sporting events of the year. Due to the 46th edition of the Cursa El Corte Inglés, which expects around 50,000 runners, significant disruptions to mobility and public transport are anticipated during the morning of May 10.
Traffic restrictions will primarily be in effect from 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Sunday. During this period, the race will take place, and street closures will be progressively lifted once the event concludes.
The race route passes through numerous central streets of Barcelona. The start will be located at Plaça de la Reina Maria Cristina, and the course will include Avinguda Diagonal, Carrer de Balmes, Carrer de Rosselló, again Avinguda Diagonal, Carrer Bruc, Carrer de Mallorca, Passeig de Gràcia, Carrer d'Aragó, Carrer de Calàbria, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, Passeig de Sant Joan, and Ronda de Sant Pere, finishing at Plaça de Catalunya. All these roads will be closed to traffic for the duration of the event.
Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) has announced that several bus and tram lines will modify their routes or have limited circulation on Sunday morning. The affected lines include D40, D50, H6, H8, H10, H12, H16, V3, V5, V7, V9, V11, V13, V15, V17, V19, V21, 6, 7, 19, 22, 24, 27, 33, 34, 39, 47, 54, 55, 59, 63, 67, 68, 78, 113, 141, and the blue and red lines of the Barcelona Bus Turístic. As an alternative, metro use is recommended, with access to the starting area available via the Maria Cristina (L3) station.
