The Generalitat de Catalunya, through its Linguistic Policy department, has announced the release this week of three new cinematic productions in Catalan in various theaters across the region.

The animated film 'Superthings: La pel·lícula' is now available dubbed in Catalan in 22 cinemas, including Cinesa Diagonal, Cinesa Diagonal Mar, and Cinesa SOM Multiespai in Barcelona. The plot follows three friends who accidentally merge their monotonous city with Kaboom City, the city of the Superthings, triggering a battle between superheroes and supervillains.
The historical drama 'El samurai i el presoner', set in 16th-century Japan, can be seen dubbed and subtitled in Catalan in 17 cinemas. The story tells how the samurai Murashige Araki, besieged in his castle, must uncover a traitor with the help of the enemy strategist Kanbei Kuroda.
Finally, the road movie 'Indòmita Llum', a documentary filmed over four years between Argentina and Garrotxa, will be screened in its original version (50% Catalan, 50% Spanish) in 7 theaters. The film follows Antu, a blind nine-year-old girl from Olot, and her family as they travel through Argentina, screening films in remote towns.
These releases are part of the initiative to promote cinema in Catalan, offering the public a diverse selection of genres and stories.
