The joint participation will be presented under the common image «Catalunya, where food is culture», aiming to facilitate knowledge of Catalan products and establish contact between restaurateurs, distributors, and specialized shops with the producing companies.
The Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Food, Òscar Ordeig, visited the event, stating that the Gastronomic Forum is a "great opportunity to showcase the potential of our agri-food sector and bring Catalan producers closer to professionals in catering, distribution, and trade".
This year, the inclusion of the Provincial Council of Tarragona allows for the gathering of all four provincial councils, with a space dedicated to the designations of origin and protected geographical indications for wines, olive oils, rice, and hazelnuts from the region. The offering includes meats, cured meats, fish, seafood, cheeses, oils, wines, fruits, nuts, honeys, preserves, and pastries, combining conventional and organic products.
El Rebost de Catalunya (The Pantry of Catalonia) will complement the commercial exhibition with 24 sessions of tastings, pairings, and presentations, where professionals can learn about the diversity of Catalan products, their origin, and their gastronomic applications.
The Gastronomic Forum Barcelona is moving this year to the Gran Via venue in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat due to works at the Montjuïc venue. The fair will host over 450 exhibiting companies under the theme «Revisiting Tradition».
