The Mossos d'Esquadra and the Guàrdia Urbana dismantled two occupied drug dens in the Raval and Gòtic neighborhoods of Barcelona this week, arresting five individuals for drug trafficking.

The first operation focused on an occupied premises at number 3, Vistalegre Street, in the Raval neighborhood. Officers from the Ciutat Vella Urban Crime Group detected drug sales and leveraged the fact that it was not a residence to act under the flagrant crime doctrine.
In this operation, police arrested three people as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health. Among them was a woman known locally as "La Reina" (The Queen), 45 years old and of Dominican origin, considered an active figure in managing these sales points. The other two detainees are 35 and 29 years old with previous records.
During the search of the Vistalegre premises, officers seized various types of drugs, including crack, cocaine, and heroin, along with cash, manipulation tools, and the video surveillance system used to control access.
Hours later, a joint operation by the Guàrdia Urbana de Barcelona and the Mossos d'Esquadra dismantled a second drug den in the Gòtic neighborhood, near Vila de Madrid Square. In this case, two people were arrested, and fifteen consumers were identified.

The police came today and kicked them out. At night they made a lot of noise. People were constantly coming in to take drugs.

This second Gòtic premises, measuring over 100 square meters, was particularly conflictive, having recently registered a stabbing incident. It was run by a group known to the police who had opened another drug den on Rauric Street shortly after their previous one was dismantled.
