The damage was specifically concentrated in front of the Barca Maria seafront promenade, where the storm caused significant damage to both the railway infrastructure and the promenade itself.
According to the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, Adif technicians worked intensively during the last hours to restore the service. The infrastructure is now operational again, although the entity acknowledges that absolute total safety is not possible in such exposed coastal areas.
Adif has placed additional protection on the railway platform to reinforce safety and minimize risks against future storms.
This section in Badalona is one of 21 critical points that Adif has reviewed following the effects of the storm. The main objective is to reduce the risk to the minimum possible, especially in these coastal zones.
