The latest Institut Metròpoli survey from 2024 reveals that the Badalona Local Police (Guàrdia Urbana) is one of the forces with the lowest public approval rating in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area.

The study, based on data collected for the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), analyzes citizens' perception of police services in metropolitan municipalities. The average score for the Badalona Local Police stands at 6.6 out of 10.

The 6.6 score obtained by the Badalona Local Police is the lowest among the local forces in the analyzed municipalities, matching only the score received by the Barcelona city police.

This figure contrasts sharply with the ratings achieved by other security forces in the region. The local police in Santa Coloma de Gramenet and Cerdanyola del Vallès both achieved a 7.3, while Sant Cugat del Vallès scored a 7.0.
Notably, Badalona citizens rate the Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan police) higher, giving them a score of 7.1. The Institut Metròpoli study serves as a key reference tool for analyzing the evolution of trust in metropolitan police forces.
