The 26th International Magic Festival of Badalona begins on January 31st, incorporating, for the first time, illusionism sessions at the Germans Trias Hospital in Can Ruti.

The main novelty of this edition is its expansion into the Germans Trias Hospital, known as Can Ruti. Beyond a performance by Adan Xou on February 10th, the festival will offer bimonthly sessions until December. These sessions are aimed at young people aged 8 to 18 with mental health disorders and hospital stays exceeding 15 days, teaching them games and magic tricks.

The goal is to use magic as a therapeutic and support tool for young people with mental health disorders in the hospital environment.

The festival's Honor Mention this year goes to the magician and constructor Xavier Tapias. Tapias is renowned for his ability to reproduce the machines used by the magic innovator Robert Houdin; in fact, one of his works is housed in the museum dedicated to Houdin in Blois (France). Currently, Tapias serves as the president of the European section of the International Federation of Magic Societies (FISM).
The festival will open on January 31st with the traditional gathering of Catalan magicians at the Màgic commercial center. Festival director Enric Magoo and Maty Gálvez will lead an illusionism course for teachers. The international galas will feature artists such as Joshua Kenneth (manipulation), Jaana Felicitas (magic and dance fusion), The Great Kaplan (modern vaudeville), the poetic magic of Jerôme Murat, and the grand illusions of Dani Polo, hosted by Àlex Gilabert.
