With just over a year until the May 2027 municipal elections, the race for Barcelona City Hall is taking shape as major parties confirm their leading candidates.

Barcelona en Comú has chosen Gerardo Pisarello to succeed Ada Colau, while ERC has officially named Elisenda Alamany as its candidate. Both parties are positioning themselves early to capture the progressive vote in the Catalan capital.
Incumbent Mayor Jaume Collboni is expected to run again for the PSC, and Daniel Sirera will lead the PP list once more. Meanwhile, Junts remains the only major group without a confirmed head, amid rumors of an offer to businessman Tatxo Benet.
New political actors like Aliança Catalana are also preparing for their debut in the city, with plans to reveal their candidate this coming April, adding more complexity to the local political landscape.
