Mayors Jaume Collboni and David Quirós signed a collaboration protocol this Friday, March 13, to create a Joint Commission aimed at strengthening ties between Barcelona and L'Hospitalet.

The initiative focuses on reducing the 'border effect' by aligning municipal ordinances and public services. This strategic partnership covers a combined population of two million people, creating one of the most significant economic hubs in southern Europe.
Key projects under this new framework include the relocation of the Hospital Clínic, the development of the Biopol biomedical cluster, and the transformation of Fira de Barcelona. Both leaders also emphasized the need for the Torrassa transport interchange to improve regional rail connectivity.

"We are starting a new era. Many times the two cities have not worked side by side."
