The Barcelona Marathon 2026, scheduled for Sunday, March 15, will cause severe mobility restrictions in the Catalan capital, including road closures and significant public transport disruptions.

The race will start at 8:30 AM on Passeig de Gràcia, between Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes and Plaça de Catalunya. The finish line is located at Passeig de Lluís Companys, with traffic impacts beginning progressively on Friday, March 13.
The Barcelona City Council has organized a plan that includes the total closure of the circuit between 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM on Sunday. Early restrictions will start at 5:00 AM in key areas such as Ronda de la Universitat, Plaça d'Urquinaona, and Ronda de Sant Pere.
Parking bans will take effect on Friday night in streets like Carrer de Mallorca, Avinguda Diagonal, and Carrer de Sepúlveda. Authorities warn that municipal tow trucks will remove vehicles that do not comply with the special signage installed for the event.
Public transport will also face major changes. Trambesòs lines T4, T5, and T6 will be fully suspended starting at 7:45 AM between Glòries and Ciutadella. Residents are advised to use the Metro as the primary alternative for city travel on Sunday morning.
