The Barcelona Chamber of Commerce has presented its Gold Medals of Honor at La Llotja de Mar, celebrating the careers of Joan Planes, Enric Crous, and Anna Mercadé.

A posthumous award was given to Joan Planes Vila, co-founder of Fluidra, for his role in building one of Catalonia's most successful multinationals. Planes, who passed away last year, was also recognized for his philanthropic work in the Pyrenees region. The medal was accepted by his son, Eloi Planes, the current executive chairman of the group.

"These awards are a collective tribute to those who strive to leave the world a little better than they found it."

The ceremony also honored Enric Crous, former CEO of Damm, for his extensive leadership in major Catalan institutions. Additionally, Anna Mercadé received the distinction for her pioneering work in the feminist movement and her efforts to promote gender equality within the business world through the Women, Business and Economy Observatory.
