The Jon Cake pastry shop in Barcelona has earned recognition for creating the best cheesecake in Catalonia at the 18th edition of Làctium, the artisan cheese fair held in Vic.

The award, which includes a prize of 1,000 euros, was given for a creation that combines Garrotxa cheese and buffalo blue cheese from the Muntanyola brand. This marks the first time the Barcelona pastry shop has participated in the competition, achieving victory in its debut.
This year's edition of the event saw a record number of participants, with 36 pastry shops and restaurants entering, 22 of which reached the final stage. A key requirement for entry was that the cheesecake had to contain at least 20% artisan and Catalan-origin cheese.
The jury, composed of renowned professionals in the sector such as Alexandra Navarro (winner of the 2023 and 2025 editions), Enric Monzonís, Adrià Rodón, Eric Ortuño, Arnau Arboix, Alba Llacera, and Adrián Ruiz, was responsible for selecting the winning proposal.
The Jon Cake chain operates four establishments in Barcelona and one in Girona. Of the Barcelona locations, two are in Ciutat Vella, one in Les Corts, and the most recent opened a few weeks ago in the Poblenou neighborhood. Furthermore, the company has announced its intention to also compete in the best artisan butter croissant contest.
