The acquisition of the 50 housing units was carried out through two channels. A first package of 38 second-hand flats was bought directly from the company Building Center, owned by CaixaBank, over which the council already held the usufruct.
The remaining 12 flats come from two newly constructed buildings, located at Llull Street, 181 (four units) and Garrofers Street, 40 (eight units). These properties were secured through the application of the 30% measure, which mandates developers to allocate a portion of new developments to protected housing.
“"The executive will seek to promote the possibility of preferential purchase in flats derived from the 30% [measure]."
In addition to purchasing existing homes, the City Council also acquired three key plots for future developments. These lands, located on Roc Boronat Street, 75; Escolapi Càncer Street, 19; and Juan de Sada Street, will allow for the construction of up to 119 additional protected housing units.
