Barcelona City Council has launched a special operation for Sant Joan Eve, focused on ensuring the safety and civility of the celebration, with particular attention to beaches and forest areas.

The municipal plan for Sant Joan Eve concentrates on high-use areas like the beaches, which will remain open all night. Attention will be paid to the presence of combustible materials and the forest areas of Collserola, as well as preventive checks for alcohol and drug consumption to minimize driving risks.
Bombers de Barcelona will strengthen its resources and be distributed throughout the city, maintaining special vigilance in forest areas. The council reminds the public of the danger of pyrotechnics near forests and the prohibition of fires within 500 meters of forest areas like Collserola or Montjuïc.
Civil Protection has carried out prior preventive tasks and, along with the Guardia Urbana, has inspected the 99 authorized points of sale for fireworks to ensure compliance with regulations.
Twelve informers will be present on the beaches until 3 AM on June 24th, offering preventive support and information on services and regulations. It is reminded that beaches must be cleared by 6 AM. There will also be three healthcare assistance points in Barceloneta, Bogatell, and Mar Bella.
The Guardia Urbana and Parks and Gardens will supervise the coastal beach bars, which can offer catering services until 3:30 AM. The Aquatic Rescue Group's boat will also extend its surveillance hours along the coast.
298 portable toilets will be installed on the beaches, including adapted cabins for people with reduced mobility. Videveillance cameras along the seafront will be operational.
The operation includes a gender perspective for the prevention and attention of sexist and LGTBIphobic violence. There will be a daytime 'punto lila' (purple point) at the Bogatell breakwater and two nighttime points at Somorrostro and Bogatell, staffed by professional teams.
The cleaning reinforcement will begin at 6 AM on the 24th, with 350 people and 135 vehicles on the beaches, including tractors for sand sifting. In the rest of the city, 142 people and 61 additional vehicles will clean up the remnants of the celebration.
The metro will operate continuously for 43 hours, with an increase of up to 18 trains during key time slots. Staff will be increased at stations along the seafront, particularly on line 4.
