The Barcelona City Council has launched a 177,563 euro tender to hire unarmed private security guards to prevent the occupation of municipal plots in the Sant Andreu district.

The measure aims to monitor public spaces that are at high risk of unauthorized occupation. According to municipal reports, recent incidents have affected local security and neighborhood coexistence, leading to this preventive action.

"The purpose of this contract is to guarantee the safety of people and allow the verification of the state of the plots and the monitoring of intrusions."
