The Barcelona City Council, through the Barcelona Sports Institute (IBE), will allocate 1.8 million euros to modernize the facilities of Futbol Club Martinenc, with construction scheduled to begin in early 2027.

This significant investment will enable the expansion of the existing changing room block, the construction of new classrooms and multi-purpose rooms, and the creation of a direct exterior access to the field from Telègraf Street, among other important improvements for the sports complex in Guinardó.

"This action responds to the growing demand for grassroots sports, to improve a key facility for hundreds of young people and families in Guinardó, and to ensure that sport continues to be a tool for cohesion and opportunities."

David Escudé · Barcelona Sports Councillor
The works at Futbol Club Martinenc are part of a broader plan by the Barcelona City Council, which foresees a total investment of 10 million euros for the improvement of various sports facilities across the city.
Within this ambitious plan, other notable actions include a 3 million euro investment to transform Pavelló 2 of the Fira de Montjuïc into the new Poble-sec Municipal Sports Center, as well as comprehensive upgrades to the La Foixarda Municipal Rugby Field and the CEM Mar Bella, reinforcing the municipal commitment to sports.
