The event, held on April 28, was attended by municipal representatives, family members of the honoree, members of LGTBI+ associations, and the Armand de Fluvià Institution of Genealogy and Heraldry. During the ceremony, a commemorative video was screened, reviewing the activist's life and legacy.
Born in Barcelona on October 17, 1931, and passed away on September 6, 2024, Armand de Fluvià was a distinguished genealogist and heraldist, specializing in reconstructing family lineages and studying Catalan heraldry. Concurrently, he was a central figure in the gay emancipation movement from the final years of the Franco dictatorship.
Among his most important achievements are the founding of the Movimiento Español de Liberación Homosexual, his role as the first general secretary of the Front d'Alliberament Gai de Catalunya, the presidency of the Institut Lambda, and his involvement as a promoter and patron of the Fundació Enllaç.
One of his most tangible legacies is the Armand de Fluvià Documentation Center, an extensive collection of material related to sexual, affective, and gender diversity. This archive, which belongs to Casal Lambda, is accessible to the public at the city's LGTBI Center.
