The traveler, known for her hyperactivity and for always cycling, embarked on the Costa Deliziosa on November 27 in Trieste and disembarked in Barcelona on April 4. During her journey, she visited 27 countries and five continents, passing through places like Casablanca, Tenerife, Barbados, the Panama Canal, Peru, Chile, and Easter Island, where she spent Christmas.
The trip, an impulsive decision after learning of a cancellation, cost her 31,000 euros for a balcony cabin, including meals, drinks, entertainment, and 12 excursions. The retiree, who worked for 39 years in a chemical company, emphasized the importance of traveling while still energetic, as she observed hospitalizations and even some deaths on board due to the advanced age of some passengers.
“"I wasn't bored for a single moment; in fact, I ran out of time. On port days, you go on excursions or explore destinations on your own, and on the days before, a Spanish-speaking guide helps you plan because you want to see many things."
On board, the traveler took advantage of numerous activities, such as craft workshops, pilates, fitness, yoga, bridge, and dancing. She befriended people of various nationalities, including Swedes, Americans, Italians, and French, to whom she even taught Catalan. This international network of friends has led to invitations to visit cities like Madrid, Vigo, Las Palmas, and Granada, as well as countries like Italy, France, and Germany.
Among her favorite visits, she highlighted modern major cities such as Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Despite the fabulous experience, she suffered a minor incident upon returning to Barcelona, where her wallet was stolen, a contrast to the safety of the cruise's port calls.
